Tax Day Tea Party in Sarasota

With all the buzz around having a modern-day “Boston Tea Party,” and using tea bags as a way to let people know we’re fed up with all the taxes, it’s no surprise that a couple of different groups are organizing events in the local community.

The Sarasota Tea Party will be happening at Noon near downtown on tax day. Another group is organizing the Lakewood Ranch Tea Party for later in the day.

Maybe you can make it to both of them?

Such a sham! Don’t you idiots realize that you are protesting George Bush’s tax rates???? Go get FOXED…you deserve it.

Ha! Peggy…

I’m not protesting any one President’s tax rates… I’m protesting the very existence of unconstitutional taxes. The spending by the last 4 Presidents has finally created a groundswell of people who have figured out that we are no longer a free people.

But… thanks for calling me an idiot anyway. I appreciate it!

It never ceases to amaze me how the “tolerant” left can be so intolerant of those who disagree with them. Shame on you, Peggy. It’s a good thing that everyone doesn’t think like you or we’d live in a totalitarian state. Dissent with government power gave birth to this great nation, and is what protects us today.

This is not a Republican/Democrat issue. Most of us are just as upset with the Republicans as we are with the Democrats. Pull your head out of the sand and look at what is going on in this country. This is not a day for you to put blind faith in politicians, no matter what party they belong to. Lay aside your partisan politics and your hatred of Bush to examine the facts.

These protests are not about today’s taxes. They are about out-of-control Federal government spending. They are about the massive taxes that will fall upon the shoulders of our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are about taking money from hard working Americans and giving it to bankers and corporate executives who made back room deals with corrupt politicians.

Today, Americans join together to exercise their Constitutional rights of free speech to tell our elected officials that they must stop this madness of spending our country into bankruptcy. There are no political party lines. WE THE PEOPLE.

Peace
